Nothing here unfortunately, the server crash wiped it. Remember: RAIDs ARE backups (well, not RAID 0, but all the others are, that's how they're high availability) but no backup system is foolproof so you should have at least two or more different backup systems.

- RAID 5, 6, or ideally RAID 1 with three disks per set.
- Nightly incremental back-ups plus a weekly full back-up (to different disks.) You have a ton of unused drives lying around anyway if you're into this. Get a hotswap bay for them and put them to use!
- Regular remote back-ups if you have the bandwidth, especially of your most important data.

The first will protect you against simple disk outages, but note that RAID 5 is considered obsolete with today's disk sizes and RAID 6 is fast approaching the same status. Triple disk RAID 1 will always be acceptable. The second will protect you against deleted files and RAID set failures (especially with RAID 5, but Nerdrack's failure was with dual disk RAID 1... failures happen.) The third will prevent, say, a fire from wiping out all your data.

Good luck!
